Louvred Pergola Weather Performance

I’m considering a louvred pergola but I’m unsure how well it performs during heavy rain and winter snow. Some brands claim full waterproofing when slats are shut, but that sounds a bit optimistic. Also, is there a risk of snow bending the structure? We get moderate snowfall but occasional storms. I don’t want to invest in something that needs constant attention or struggles under seasonal conditions.

We bought from https://closethedeal.co.uk/catalogs/louvred-pergola-gazebo. When the slats are closed, rainwater channels through internal gutters and drains out the posts. It works surprisingly well, even in storms. Snow is fine as long as you brush off heavy accumulation. Last winter we had about 20 cm of snow for a week; no issues. Just keep leaves clear from the gutters, or drainage slows.
