Choosing the right fire-rated glass for partitions
During a recent office fit-out, we needed internal glass walls that could resist fire without making the space feel heavy or closed off. I wasn’t sure which thickness would be safe yet practical, so I spent time learning how different thicknesses affect fire performance and visibility.
When installing glass, I found that fire rated glass thickness really determines both safety and functionality. Thinner panes may look sleek but might not meet required fire durations, while thicker options offer better protection yet add weight. Balancing these factors was key for my project, ensuring the partitions were safe without compromising design or usability.
